Wilma
Just before I qualified for my 2e0 I started fostering a lovely little pomeranian called Wilma.
After some 9 months of getting her to a place were she was signed off by the vets, I could not help but adopt her.
Wilma was an amazing dog. 12.5 years old, blind and deaf. She came to me with ear issues, very little hair on her coat, very quiet and just slept and tried not to bump into things. After 1 hour of initial shock of seeing this girl, I manned up for her sake and from then on just showed her what care was, what tummy rubs felt like, decent food, and as much fresh air as she wanted.
My callsign 2E0HFW is an acronymn of Home For Wilma. My friend Colin, MOXCA, came up with this. And it has stuck! So heart felt and I still go by this acronym even though she has long since passed on 13th November, 2023.
Wilma was a super dog and fluffy station manager. I miss her dearly. RIP Wilma x
